DPP Pultrusion and Rock West Composites have partnered to launch STRATOPultrusion™, a new range of space-grade pultruded carbon fibre profiles developed to support next-generation deployable systems for the rapidly evolving space sector.

The new STRATOPultrusion™ range expands the existing STRATO product portfolio by introducing solid and hollow pultruded profiles specifically engineered for demanding aerospace and space applications. Developed through the collaboration between DPP Pultrusion and Rock West Composites, the range combines advanced pultrusion expertise with industry-leading composite materials to deliver high-performance, space-ready solutions.

Designed for use in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO), and deep-space environments, STRATOPultrusion™ products offer a unique combination of mechanical performance, dimensional stability, and reliability. Key characteristics include:

  • Low outgassing performance
  • Low or near-zero coefficient of thermal expansion
  • High-modulus composite materials
  • Low creep behaviour
  • Wide operating temperature range

These properties make the profiles particularly well suited for deployable booms, structural supports, solar array systems, antenna structures, and other mission-critical applications where precision and durability are essential.

A significant advantage of the STRATOPultrusion™ range is the availability of pre-engineered, space-grade components with considerably shorter lead times than traditional custom-manufactured alternatives. Initial products, including rods and tubes, are expected to be available with lead times of just four to eight weeks, enabling customers to accelerate development timelines and reduce project risk.

The launch further demonstrates DPP Pultrusion's commitment to pushing the boundaries of advanced pultruded composites.
