Drone reeds in bagpipes

Carbon profiles are also applied in drone reeds of bagpipes. The pipes that are not aspirated (the bass pipe and tenor pipes) are in this case equipped with a synthetic reed in which a carbon strip serves as drone reed. The carbon reeds have a constant performance (are not subject to wear, shrinkage or expansion) and are very durable.
